blackberry-8900-tmobile

Its hard out here keeping up with all your social networking accounts, four email addresses, instant messengers, two blogs, and not to mention the myriad of texts I get daily (it comes out to about 5000 a month.) THANK GOD for my Blackberry. When it got stolen last month (at gun point…along with my car) I was lost. I didn’t know what to do. I was forced to go back to my 1st Generation iPhone which helped me realize…I am a true Blackberry Addict. So I finally jumped on Craigslist and got another 8900.

I would like to share some of my Blackberry power tips with you to help you manage your life a little easier. And not just your typical double space for period…I’m talking SERIOUS tips. (* you did know you can hit space twice to get a period at the end of a sentence, right? If not…turn in your jetsetter car…immediately!)

Sending your pin

When someone asks for your pin, are you one of those people who go to options > status > and copy the pin from there, and then sends it…blah blah blah??? Kill all that by simply starting a text message, type in the word mypin and hit the space bar and VOILA, your pin magically appears. So now not only did you send that pretty girl your pin, you got her number in the process. Use it wisely so you don’t come off as a perv, psycho, or all the above.

The Extra Button

What function do you CONSTANTLY use on your blackberry? Where do you find yourself ALWAYS having to press the MENU button to get to? Why not set that function/window to open when you press the extra button on your blackberry. I have my extra button set as the messages on my 8900. You can do so by going to Options > Screen/Keyboard > and changing the Left Side Convenience Key to whatever you want it to be. If you don’t use the camera, feel free to set the right key also.

GMail and Sent Message

If you use your Blackberry to receive/send your Gmail messages then you’ve probably been flooded by dozens of your sent messages. To get rid of this nuance, sign in to your BIS account and create a filter to not forward messages FROM your email address. Get Rid of Unused Icons

Well, not really. But you can just group those icons that you don’t use in a folder to free up some space and helps you to avoid having to scroll endlessly.

Easily Navigate Through Your Blackberry

Have you ever received an email or text that was about three pages long? Remember scrolling endlessly through that email just to get to the end to the vital information? You can use the “T” button and the “B” button to get to the top and bottom of a page, respectively. Also, utilize the space button to go down to the next page.
If you are on the messages page, you can press “P” to navigate to the next day.

Reboot Your Blackberry

Ever need to reboot your Blackberry and your only options are to either press and hold the power button to power it off and cut it back on, or simply remove the battery from the device? Well, there’s an easier way to do so Press ALT + Shift + Delete all at once.

MAC USERS CAN REJOICE

If you are a Mac user, RIM will be releasing a Desktop Manager for Mac Blackberry users this month. The Beta version of the software has released however it DOES have a lot of bugs (*I know from experience.) Hopefully, the new version will be bug free and allow all of us to Mac/Blackberry users to sync well.
